Transport
Salford boasts exceptional transport links, great access routes to surrounding motorways and easy access to the city centre via the tram which passes through Salford Quays. Salford Quays also has access to M602/M60 for motorway connections and the A56 takes you into Manchester city centre.
Amenities
The exciting MediaCity in Salford Quays is home to the BBC and ITV, where Coronation Street is filmed. Salford Quays is a contemporary cultural and entertainment hub with fantastic architecture and waterside dining.
The Lowry Arts Centre stages drama and ballet and shows works by local 20th-century artist L.S. Lowry. Big-name brands sell discounted fashion at the Lowry Outlet mall. Across the canal the Imperial War Museum North often hosts family events.
Recreation
Salford remains one of the UK’s greenest cities, with over 60% of Salford being green space. Salford boasts over 20 public parks, including the outstanding Peel Park and Buile Hill Park.
Ordsall Hall is a formerly moated Tudor mansion, the oldest parts of which were built during the 13th century – definitely worth a visit.
Schools
The Salford area has a variety of primary schools and high schools. Salford Quays is also home to Footlights Theatre School & Academy and the world-class University of Salford.
Property
Salford’s industrial past means that early 1900’s terrace properties make up a significant percentage of homes in the area – however, there’s certainly no shortage of semi-detached and detached properties around.
There has been substantial re-generation across the area and it’s now the area sought out by young professionals, young families and students. The £100m regeneration of Ordsall Estate, close to Salford Quays, has just been completed.
